May 27- 30

On Wednesday our group went out to the Reading Terminal and we collected data about how much food (of different types) would cost for a family of four. During my independent hours I experienced a lot by helping others and seeing what other people go through. For the next service learning meeting I plan to see if our group could go out and collect more data that could help our school go out or get better lunches for next year. Next year I think we should start service learning early so more things can get accomplished. Our group could have done more for this year but things for next year should be better.

May12- May 16

During service learning I learned different strategies that my group and I should use to improve school lunches. What I learned about myself is that I should participate more in my group. If I was in charge I would not change nothing. Three ideas I have plan for the group is for us to have a petition signed by the students so our group can have a chance to at least go out

Service Learning May 1st

On May 1st as part of service learning my group(improving school lunches) went out for lunch to see if it could be a possibility of the whole school going out. I think our group did good coming back on time and the way we behaved. We chose places to go to and took a survey that told about what we experience such as what type of food is served there. During service learning we discussed about our surveys and we talked about the problems such as the time limit of lunch and our classes. We also discussed plans for next week. Next week we were planning to call some companies and invite Ms. Lynn to our next meeting so they can help improve our school lunches.

Service Learning april 28- may 2

On Friday meeting we disscused the possiblities of us having a food company to sponser us and we though about having the school go out for lunch. The successful thing about our meeting was the fact that we got somethign plan like for us to actually go out to the people and ask if they can sponser us. Problems that we encountered was coming up with a way to get us out for lunch. In the group I can research on what foods is good for us and try to get the roup members to consider it.

Service Learning Meeting

In my service learning group nutrition we discuss how to make school lunches better and why. There was a lot of things that were discuss such as what should be done, how we can make it better and what the lunches was like at this school compared to other high school lunches. A lot of things that we discuss we agreed and disagreed about some of the stuff like having these lunches was not fair.Overall our group discuss was interesting and for Thursday's meeting I plan to discuss what foods should be given based on what people like and if we should go out for lunch. I hope my group can make a difference and better the school lunches for us. Also I think we should discuss about our progress that was made so far.I feel that our goal to get better lunches will be met.

The subject I made progress in

The class I made progress in is science. We are studying forces like gravity and friction. I Think I really improved in this subject because I payed more attention and learning this new lesson help me improve my grade. Also the work from study island that I completed helped me a lot. Since I started doing better in this subject I learned a lot more that I didn't know. This subject has became one of my favorite subjects besides Spanish. I also hope to do the same for the rest of the school year.
