Introduction
This person is an important individual to our history because he saw what others didn't, he saw the racial issue between whites and blacks. Even though he was a white man he created the best thing that happened to blacks during that time period, an education. This person is Oliver O. Howard. He gave African Americans the right to an education just like whites had theirs. By doing so he created Howard University, an African American college just for blacks.
